At the end of 2021, Club Jupiter partnered with Willerby to style up a new Willerby Brookwood caravan three ways. This jewel-toned 70s style caravan is just one result. Check out our full post on how to style a Willerby caravan three ways for more.
When our very own Whinnie Williams was challenged to put her own spin on a Willerby Brookwood, it was obviously going to embrace 70s style to the max. Inspired by complementary jewel-toned hues of orange and blue, Whinnie’s starting point was a pair of patterned curtains finished in a blend of butterscotch and navy colourways. Using vintage pieces from her home and products from Dunelm, Whinnie was able to transform the living and dining areas into a retro dream. Here’s how she created a 70s style caravan with her own spin…
Whinnie’s chosen colour palette was an iconic orange and blue mix which was originally dictated from the pale blue sofa in the Willerby Brookwood. Many of the details in the model already have a retro feel so it made sense to push this further. All the products selected embraced this blue and terracotta palette with a few browns and natural jutes thrown in for good measure.

As the creative director of homeware brand Poodle & Blonde, layering fabrics and textures is pretty important to Whinnie so layering cushions and rugs was one of the first places she set to work. Every item embraces the rich colour palette but she’s used different textures and patterns to add interest.

A great way to make something your own is to add in vintage or secondhand accessories that are unique to you. A mix of new and old helps to create a narrative in your home; think vases, bowls, trays, artwork or objet d’art. If you’re not sure where to start, head to your local charity shop or try eBay!

Dinner tables can be one of the hardest areas to style up but if you’re looking to entertain in your caravan, here’s Whinnie’s top tips – play around with height! In the Brookwood, Whinnie added a jute runner before layering the table with a wooden board and the dinner plates topped with rolled napkins. A tall vase filled with eucalyptus finishes the look.

As with any styling, it’s always about the little things. Remember to make a space feel you, whether that be with smoked amber wine glasses or lots of photographs. If you love entertaining, go all out with your tableware. If you like your home to echo your wardrobe, look there for the inspiration. We think Whinnie achieved her signature style in here, what do you think?
