It’s official! The cat is out of the bag – we’re renovating a caravan! Club Jupiter is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this journey with you. Haven’t heard what Club Jupiter is yet? Find out below!
Club Jupiter is a caravan renovation project by three women based in Margate, Kent. You’ve got interior designer Whinnie Williams, interior stylist and writer, Emma Jane Palin, and travel journalist Anna Hart. That’s our dream team! You can learn more about us on our About page.
During the global pandemic in 2020, we started to meet for socially distanced business meetings. We had all pivoted drastically within our respective careers and felt as if we needed to concentrate on new things, while also celebrating the things we had achieved in such a period of unknown. Around two weeks into said business meetings, Whinnie and Emma came up with the idea to renovate a caravan. They messaged Anna (literally) and the seed for Club Jupiter was planted. Club Jupiter came about over WhatsApp! Can you believe it?
Renovating a caravan takes a little bit of time so, at the moment, we’re busy working away in the background getting the caravan in tip top shape. However, once the caravan is completely renovated, Club Jupiter will be open for bookings. This could be for short-term stays or location shoot bookings. We’re super excited to open our very small caravan door to potential guests.
The three of us are all inspired by vintage design and eras gone by, so you can expect to see plenty of retro references in Club Jupiter. A themed caravan is our absolute dream and we are not taking the design lightly. Think disco ball walls, Palm Springs moments and lots of opportunity for a selfie.
Cold! We’ve been renovating Club Jupiter over the winter, so yes, it’s been a little bit cold. Overall, renovating a caravan is different to what you might do in a house, everything is a little bit backwards. We’re working with a lovely builder who knows caravan design well. We’re hoping to reuse and repurpose as much as possible to avoid wastage.
We’re keeping this one a secret until renovation has finished, but keep your eyes peeled on social media for more information.
We’re hoping that the caravan will be ready to go in late Spring 2021 for UK travel. Sign up to our newsletter for more information.
We’re sure that you’re just as buzzing as us about our caravan renovation journey. If you’ve got more questions or want to stay up to date with us, keep coming back here or drop us an email. We’ll do our best to answer anything you’d like to know. In the meantime, stay cool!
